THE “BLACK CAT” CIGAR BOX GUITAR:
In creating our cigar box guitars, mandolins, banjos and ukuleles, we think the Tabak Cigars box is one of the best places to start. Their size and depth give an unmatched tone whether you play it acoustically or plugged in.
The Black Cat is largely named for the carved take on a traditional-style headstock (and logo), but also for its distinctive sound. This guitar has a bright, deep sound, and for almost any player, a fast, low action that is perfect for chording, slide, or fingerpicking. An exceptional instrument.
Just some of the features of the Black Cat:
• Tabak black cigar box body
• Solid Red Oak neck, heel and headstock
• 22 Fret fretboard, including zero fret at headstock
• Custom gold hardware, knobs, and closed tuners
• Matching black sound holes
• Fully adjustable bridge
• Rosewood not/spacer above zero fret
• MGB low noise single coil pickup
• Ernie Ball Earthwood Phosphor Bronze light strings
…And, of course, the Black Cat – right on the headstock
This guitar has impressed us. It’s been set up with low action, perfect for any level player. The intonation has been precisely and accurately adjusted. It sounds great unplugged, and, plugged in, has been tested on a number of amps.
And this cat roars!
